beach holidays, Koh Kood
Ao Noi Beach, Koh Kood

We are very confident about giving Koh Kood Island the first place. This cute island exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend it. To us, it belongs to one of the best beach holiday destinations for 2021. It is also one of the most beautiful islands we have seen in this area of Thailand and this photo ranks as one of our best drone photos we took in Southeast Asia. Why we love it so much? Because it’s a simple island with a chill atmosphere.

We had this beach called Ao Noi just for ourselves. Rent a scooter and drive around to find your own paradise. We guarantee that there won’t be many eyeballs around. You can also kayak, snorkel or explore marine life. As Koh Kood is part of the Chang Islands you can easily reach Koh Mak and Koh Chang if you like. So if you need a perfect beach holiday, Koh Khood is one of your dreamy destinations.

The best time to visit Koh Kood is between December and March which is also the dry season.

best beach holiday destinations, Caramoan, PHILIPPINES
Caramoan, Philippines

By Slavi from Global Castaway.

This beach location is not only one of the best to visit but also one of the most underrated. While the Philippines is one of the best beach holiday destinations in Southeast Asia, most people visit usually Boracay, Palawan or Bohol. Thus, leaving the paradise of Caramoan out of their itinerary. And they miss so much! Being a set for the reality show – Survivor, Caramoan is located at the tip of the Caramoan Peninsula, a rugged place of land extending into the waters of the Maqueda Channel in the north and east and Lagonoy Gulf in the south.

Tropical heaven, full of limestone islands, that somehow doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Unlike Palawan, you won’t have to fight with other boats to reach the beaches. Hell, you won’t even have to share the beaches with other people on your boat because…well… usually, there aren’t other people on your boat! And if private island hopping and tropical beaches are not enough to convince you, Caramoan offers incredible scuba diving and snorkeling spots, perfect cliff jumping rocks and even some caves you can explore. Don’t miss to visit the Survivor show shooting sites. I’m not gonna spoil it but trust me there is a reason those islands were picked for a multi-million dollar production. If that sounds right, then add it to your list of best beach holiday destinations for this year.

The best time to visit Caramoan is between February and May when there is little to no chance to get caught up in a typhoon.

beach vacations, Mjet Croatia
Mljet, Croatia

By Neža and Leo from Safari Nomad.

Croatia belongs to one of the best holiday destinations in Europe. Thanks to the endless most wonderful beaches on the Adriatic coast, with numerous lovely islands, hidden and romantic caves and reefs. In addition, the water is warm, crystal clear with extraordinary sunset views. Here you can easily find a beach of your choice, from long sandy beaches to rocky, pebble beaches with a lot of shade, due to lush and varied Mediterranean greenery.

The island of Mljet is the most beautiful and forested island in the Adriatic. Its unspoiled and mystical nature can easily addict you with a combination of gorgeous beaches, blue caves, and its peacefulness. It is not so far away from the popular destination of Dubrovnik, where you can explore amazing beaches as well. Half of the island is a national park and its originality invites you to discover each corner of it. At the end of the island, you will find extensive beaches and magnificent views. Saplunara Beach, the most famous beach, surrounded by thick pine forest, is divided into two beaches: Large Saplunara and Small Saplunara. The best way to explore the island is by bike. You also have the chance to enjoy the island by kayak or canoe. The gorgeous beaches of Mljet can only be accessed by boat which makes your summer experience even more fascinating.

best beach holiday destinations, Karimunjawa, Indonesia
Gleyang Island, Karimunjawa

Kari…what? Karimunjawa Islands, you got it right. If you want to have an awesome beach holiday, then this is one of the coolest destinations. This place is still considered to be a hidden gem and nothing like busy Bali. The Karimunjawa Islands are a group of 27 tropical islands in the Java Sea and they are one of the most beautiful islands in Indonesia and there are quite a few things to do there. It is peaceful, beautiful and we are more than sure you will love it to drive around and enjoy the beauty of this paradise island. There are perfect white sand beaches everywhere on the island. Our favorite beach on the mainland of Karimunjawa was Ujung Gelam. Just come in the morning and you will have the entire beach for yourself.

However, what we enjoyed the most was the island hopping trip around the islands. The water was amazingly blue and we had a couple of stops. We stopped somewhere in the middle of the beautiful sea and caught our own lunch. Then we continued until we reached Gleyang Island. We have seen many beautiful beaches in Indonesia but this view was incredible. We had our fresh fish cooked here and I spent most of the time on the swing. Watch our short movie about highlights in Karimunjawa.

The best time to visit the islands is during the dry season, generally speaking from April to October.

beach destination, Oman

By Rahma of The Sane Adventure.

Oman in the Middle East is one of the most naturally diverse countries. When thinking of paradise beach destinations, we often think of dreamy holiday locations. From long stretches of an unexplored golden sand desert to the highest mountain peaks in the Arabian Peninsula, the country offers a lot to the adventure seeker. However, not many people know that Oman has a 3000 km long coastline of untouched beaches linking the country with the Arabian Sea in the north and the Indian Ocean in the south.

The secluded beaches of Oman are still unknown for many tourists who visit the country. Qurm Beach in the heart of the capital city of Muscat is famous for jet skiing, swimming and sunbathing. There are urban cafes district right on the seafront to enjoy the sunset views on the beach while sipping coffee. The Musandam Peninsula in Oman is relatively popular for the diverse marine life in the area. There are many scuba diving and snorkeling tours in the area from Khasab Beach in Musandam.

The weather of Oman is hot and humid for most time of the year and the country receives a significant amount of sunlight all year long, which makes it an ideal beach destination. As the summer months in Oman can get considerably hot, the best time to visit Oman for a beach holiday is from September to March when the weather remains pleasant enough to enjoy at a beach.

best beach holiday destinations, Flores Indonesia
Flores, Indonesia

By Jill from Jack And Jill Travel.

While Bali can feel overcrowded, a short flight away lies Flores Island. It belongs to one of the most extraordinary destinations in Indonesia and also a perfect beach holiday spot. The town of Labuan Bajo in Flores is a great base to go island hopping to see the world’s largest lizard, the komodo dragons that can only be found here in Flores. In Labuan Bajo, you can find plenty of tour operators that offer 2-5 days of island hopping trips to visit the various smaller islands around Labuan Bajo, each island offering something different: komodo dragons, pink beaches, spectacular viewpoints, and snorkeling/scuba activities. Island hopping in Flores is definitely a highlight and a must when visiting.

Another highlight of Flores it the Kelimutu crater lakes. You can either rent a car or fly to Moni, on the other side of Flores. Here you can find the 3-colored crater lakes of Kelimutu – the lakes are famous for their changing colors. Turquoise/blue is the most common, but these lakes have also been red or white in color. Just spectacular. If you rent a car you can add stops to visit various traditional villages, spider-web rice fields, waterfalls, and more.

The best time to visit Flores is in the dry season (May – October) when the sea is calmer. Rain can make road trips especially difficult and slow.

beaches and holidays, Maldives

By Liza & Pepe from Trips Get.

The Maldives are definitely one of the best beach destinations to visit in 2021 and a place to cross out of your ultimate travel bucket list. White sandy beaches, huge coral reefs, summer all year long and dreamy overwater villas – Maldives are all that and more. There are plenty of different islands in the Maldives and hotels for any budget, however, I haven’t met a single person who hasn’t enjoyed the holiday in the Maldives. If you’re on a budget, you can stay in one of the guesthouses in Maafushi or Fulhadhoo. However, if you have a bigger budget, you can stay in one of the hotels on the private islands.

Many people assume that they would get bored in the Maldives, as there is nothing to do, but that’s not true. One of the best activities you can do in the Maldives is snorkeling, but you can also go island hopping, scuba diving and even surfing (in some parts of the Maldives only, Hulhumale, for example).

As I mentioned, the Maldives are good to visit all year long, however, the best season (with more chances to see long periods of sunshine) lasts from January to April. I visited the Maldives in May and while we had a couple of days of rain, it wasn’t raining all day long and I liked the Maldives, even more when it was cloudy (as you don’t get sunburnt that easily, no matter the sunscreen).

Mirante Dona Marta, Rio

Rio was definitely one of the most beautiful places in South America. I am sure you know why if you are looking at this amazing view on the Sugarloaf Mountain (Pao de Acucar).

Rio has a lot to offer with many activities around. Once in Rio, you need to check the famous Copacabana Beach. It’s packed with locals and tourists and there you can literally buy anything, from food to clothes and even electronics. Just be careful as petty theft occurs very often. Ipanema is another amazing beach. What we really enjoyed is watching the sunset from the Mirante Dona Marta viewpoint. Rio can keep you exploring for days. I am sure you have seen many photos and selfies with statue Christ the Redeemer at the Corcovado Mountain. Another popular place is the colorful staircase named Escadaria Selaron created by Chilean artist Jorge Selaron. We also took the cable car to Sugarloaf Mountain where we watched the sunset. An absolutely unforgettable experience was the helicopter ride over Rio and Ipanema Beach. It was one of the coolest things ever. We paid $ 50 for 5 minutes ride but it was so worthy.

The best time to visit Rio is from December to March as the days are hot and mostly sunny. If you like to beat the crowd’s visit from May to September, but in these months you will miss the famous carnival.

Kalanggaman Island, best destinations in the whole world
Kalanggaman Island, Philippines

The Philippines are a real paradise and a perfect spot for the best beach holidays. Kalanggaman Island is on a different level of awesomeness. The island is just 2 hours by boat from Malapascua Island which is a beautiful island itself. On Malapascua Island, we did out first deep dive into 30 meters to see thresher sharks. We left Kalangaman for a day trip but we wanted to stay forever. If you like you can even stay overnight on Kalamangan Island which we didn’t know before, otherwise, we would have. Just make sure to bring enough food and water as there are no restaurants, just a few food stations open during the day. This photo belongs to one of our best drone shots we ever took in Southeast Asia.

Sadly there is no much see around Kalamangan Island as locals dynamite fishing which destroys many corals and leaving a lot of dead fish behind.

The best time is in the European winter, which is between the end of November and the beginning of March.

Blue Lagoon, Malta

By Stephanie from History Fangirl.

Malta is one of my favorite places to go when I need a beach getaway. The small nation consists of three Mediterranean islands, each chock-full of fabulous beaches. And thats why for me Malta needs to be on your list if you are looking for the best beach destinations in Europe. Malta’s Blue Lagoon is the most famous of the country’s beaches. Located on the smallest island of Comino, it’s a popular day trip since the island only has one hotel. It fills up every day with sunbathers lounging in the beach chairs on the rocky cove, but by nightfall it is empty.
I also love visiting the island of Gozo, which has beautiful, sandy Ramla beach and great rock beaches throughout. The island of Malta itself is a popular beach destination, especially with the diversity of locals available like sandy Mellieha Bay and rocky St. Peter’s Pool

While in the country, make sure to set aside time to appreciate Malta’s plethora of interesting cultural sites, like the walled city of Mdina that served as King’s Landing in the first season of Game of Thrones. You can also visit the second oldest religious building in the world on Gozo. This temple of Ġgantija is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “The Megalithic Temples of Malta,” a series of six important megalithic-era religious sites.

Puerto rico, best beaches
Puerto Rico

By Martha from Quirky Globetrotter.

Puerto Rico is like a second home to me because of its sandy beaches and feel-good attitude. I visited Puerto Rico for the first time solo several years ago and I immediately fell in love. I was blown away that Puerto Rico not only had beautiful sandy beaches but also had endless adventurous activities and infectious happy vibes.

A little secret known by the locals is that all the best beaches are located outside of San Juan, the capital. I would recommend taking a road trip around the small country and exploring numerous beaches, all special and unique in their own way. Your first stop can be on the west side of the island in Rincon. Here, beaches are famous for the cowabunga, surfing waves. Further south there are the pink beaches of Cabo Rojo and a hidden bioluminescent bay in La Parguera. On the western side of the island are two smaller islands that can be reached by ferry. These islands — Vieques and Culebra — boast some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. My favorite of the two is Vieques where visitors can also see wild horses roaming about.

The best time to visit Puerto Rico is in the winter when the weather is perfect and there are no hurricanes.

beaches and destiantions, Zanzibar

By Alejandro from Please Live Your Dream.

Zanzibar rates as one of the destinations which is perfect for a beach holiday. A legendary place that is as exotic as it sounds. Imagine a paradise island. Now imagine that paradise island being in East Africa off the coast of Tanzania. It has Arabic, Indian and African influences that make Zanzibar like no other on this planet. Its capital, Stone Town, is world-famous for its distinct Swahili culture and beautiful architecture, as well as winding and beautiful alleyways and streets to explore. Besides the rich history, you have beautiful nature on the island including natural reserves with monkeys that only exist in Zanzibar, and giant tortoises! Furthermore, it is famous as a spice island where spices still are farmed and exported from. These spices give this magical island its smells, flavors, and cuisine that is unique.

If all of that wasn’t enough, it has some of the best white-sand beaches and most beautiful turquoise colored waters in the world. These are the reasons that Zanzibar is a world famous around the world and a perfect beach and island getaway. What to do in Zanzibar? Explore Stone Town. Make sure to explore this live museum. Enjoy the stunning beaches and the sea. During insanely low tide it’s amazing to walk out in surreal landscapes. Take a Spice Tour. Visits to spice farms are very informative and fun! Most trips leave from Stone Town.

When to visit Zanzibar?

This island is beautiful year-round, but the rainy seasons are mid-March to late May & the month of November.

Saint Vincent and Grenadines best beach vacations
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

By Miguel from Travelsauro.

With more than 30 islands bathed by the Caribbean sea, it’s no surprise that Saint Vincent and the Grenadines make one of the best beach holiday destinations in the world. Although most islands in Saint Vincent have amazing beaches of white sand and turquoise water, the Tobago Cays are, without doubt, the highlight of the country. The Tobago Cays are so beautiful and colorful that many Hollywood movies, including Pirates of the Caribbean, were filmed there. To get to the Cays, you need to travel to Union Island and hire a boat which will take you to some of the most picturesque beaches.

While you are visiting Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, I recommend that you don’t miss: 1.) The hike to La Soufrière Mount – an amazing trek that will take you to the crater of an active volcano. 2.) Scuba diving in Bequia which has some of the best dive sites in the country 3.) The island hopping tour in the Tobago Cays – one of the most beautiful places in all the Caribbean islands.

You can visit Saint Vincent at any time of the year, but keep in mind that there might be some heavy rains from June to November. I was there in July and I didn’t have any problems.

beach vacations. Mykonos
Mykonos, Greece

By Claudia from My Adventures Across The World.

There is no doubt that Mykonos, one of the prettiest islands of Greece, is an incredible beach destination. A favorite of European travelers, the island is blessed with a good variety of beaches: from crowded ones that are the ultimate place to see and to be seen, to more secluded, quiet ones; from those that are an all-day party to those where you’ll only hear the sound of waves. The one thing that they all have in common is the clear waters.

What makes this Greek island an incredible beach destination other than its beautiful beaches is the variety of activities on offer. There are many things to do in Mykonos other than going to the beach. The island has a few beautiful villages that are incredibly photogenic: the predominant colors here are the white of the buildings and the blue of the window shutters, making it very photogenic. The windmills are beautiful to look at. There are nearby archeological sites – one of the most popular day trips is Delos. Mykonos is also an incredible place for water sports, especially windsurfing and kitesurfing, thanks to the strong winds that regularly sweep the island. Lastly, the food on the island is delicious: whether you look for traditional Greek food or you are a lover of seafood, you’re bound to find something to tease your tastebuds.

best beach holidays,Dubai

By Arzo from Arzo Travels.

It seems like a surprise to some, that many people do not consider Dubai as of the best beach holiday destinations. Dubai is best known for skyscrapers, malls, and other crazy places. However, Dubai has also some beautiful, clean and quiet beaches. The La Mer area is home to one of them. Some beaches in Dubai are private and belong to the numerous luxury hotels but this gorgeous place is open to the public and so much fun.

It represents a different side of Dubai and there is a reason why it has become one of the newest hotspots in the city.
While it is all quite new, the style is shabby and retro-chic with many stylish restaurants, shops, and fun (and not so political) murals.
The beach section is absolutely lovely though it might get busy at times.
Fun and cute beach houses (even the toilets/showers are adorable), and a lot of stylish details make this one of the most fun places in the city and are proof that Dubai is a great beach destination. Bring your towels and of course, your bathing suits (no nudist beaches in Dubai) and either get a tan or do different kinds of water sport and enjoy the warm weather even in the winter. For an entry fee, you can also visit the water park, Laguna Water Park. So, this place is perfect for people of any age!

Can Dao, the best beach holiday destinations
Con Dao, Vietnam

if you are still searching for destinations in Vietnam, then Con Dao is the right place for an awesome beach holiday. When you think of Vietnam there are few places which pop in your head. Halong Bay, Hanoi or Phuke, right? Well, we were looking for a hidden gem in Vietnam which is not known and barely explored by tourism. After long research we found it. Côn Đảo is a group of 16 islands off the southeast coast of Vietnam. If you want to have a classical local experience, topical island life without the many crowds, then Côn Đảo is the perfect place for you.

You can easily reach Côn Đảo by plane which can be very pricey. On the main island, Con Son is a small airport and there are a couple of airlines flying. But we found another cool way and most of the guides do not even mention it. The best way to get to Con Do island on the budget is with a boat. It takes 2 hours from the city Soc Trang and it can be a bit rough experience as you will be crossing an open ocean. Once you there, you can explore beautiful and untouched beaches. We really liked Dam Trau beach on the island Con Son. We did an amazing snorkeling trip with the stop at the xxx island where we could watch baby turtles hatching in front of our eyes running into the water which was one of the most amazing experiences in Vietnam.

We visited this island in November which still to be considered as windy and a bit rainy season. Visiting Vietnam, in general, is very difficult as every part has different weather. But Co Dao is the best visit from December till March where will have mostly sunny days without much rain.

Tofino, Canada and best beaches in the world
Tofina, Canada

By Matthew Bailey from Must Do Canada.

When thinking of dreamy beach destinations, we mostly think of tropical holiday locations. We think of hot, humid weather, white sand, and turquoise waters. After all, it’s beautiful and is marketed in every travel magazine and publication on the market. However, Canada has its own beach paradise. It’s not white sand and the water isn’t warm, but it’s incredibly beautiful, clean, home to some incredible surfing, and has some of the best sunsets in the world. I’m talking about Tofino, British Columbia, which sits on the Pacific Ocean on Canada’s west coast. It’s that kind of place where you’ll find surfers, backpackers, hipsters, and hippies, as well as your regular everyday folks. There are people who camp, people who live in their vans, people who stay in hostels, and people enjoying the fancy beachside resorts. What makes this place extra special is that it’s in Canada, one of the world’s most wild and adventurous countries.

Three of the best things to do in Tofino include surfing, whale watching for orcas, and going on a hike along the rugged coast, which also links up with one of the most famous multi-day hikes in Canada – the West Coast Trail.

The best time to visit is during the spring, summer, and fall when the weather is warmest, the mornings are misty, and the evenings are typically laced with pink skies as the sunsets turn the sky into an art piece.

the best beach holiday destinations
Balos Bay, Crete

Crete was one of the first Greek islands Nico and I have visited and it absolutely stole our hearts. This is one of the destinations which has to be added to your list with the best beach holiday. Crete is the largest island in Greece and located in the southern part of the Aegean Sea. Most people dream about Santorini but if you really need to beat the crowds then this is the place.

You can easily spend 1 week exploring this diverse island and enjoy the locals’ amazing hospitality. We highly recommend you to rent a car (which is very affordable) and drive from Crete’s capital Heraklion to beautiful Chania. This the best place to reach one of the 2 most beautiful beaches in Crete: Balos Bay and Elafonisi. Food in Crete is absolutely delicious, don’t forget to try the traditional drink called raki. Balos Bay is a little bit challenging to reach as the last 5 km to get to the viewpoint is just a stony dirt road, but trust us, it’s so worth it. Elafonisi is famous for its turquoise waters and rose-tinted sand.

The best time to visit Crete is in the European summer which is end of May till late September. You can definitely visit in the winter when there are barely tourists but some of the restaurants might close for the off-season and water might be a little chilly.

beach destinations, Pacific Grove, California
Pacific Grove, California

By Priya from Glorious Sunrise.

Pacific Grove in Monterey County of California is a charming coastal city with plenty of fun things to do. It rates as one of the perfect and absolutely underrated beach holiday destinations. What we love most about this city is that there is something for everyone here. Kids love spending time at the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium. Dennis the Menace children’s playground is another popular attraction for kids. This playground is right next to a pleasant lake where boating is enjoyed by one and all.

This city has a stunning scenic drive called a 17-mile drive that takes you through rolling hills, dense forests, abundant greenery and gorgeous beaches along the way. Lovers Point Beach and the park is a family fun spot where you can spend time learning to deep-dive or simply relax on the beach when the kids build sandcastles. This is a State Marine Reserve, too. Majestic cypress trees unique to this area surround the park making it breathtaking. Also, there are rocks that you can climb to enjoy a great view of the sea and catch a glimpse of the occasional whale! Point Pinos Lighthouse is another interesting thing to do here.

If you visit Pacific Grove between October and March you can have a great time at the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary. Though this city can be enjoyed year-round, if you prefer less crowds and warmer weather, April and May are your best bet.

Bali is one of the best beach destinations
Bali, Indonesia

Welcome to Bali. Bali is one of the most famous islands in Indonesia. For many travelers, Bali is one the best beach holiday destinations in Southeast Asia and I am not surprised why. It’s an easy-going island with many places for tourists. We spent altogether 3 weeks in Bali and we stayed in area called Jimbaran. I am so happy that we lived there as it wasn’t crowded at all and we were close to the best beaches. We drove around the island with a mission to find the best beaches.

Even though some people say that there are not beautiful beaches in Bali, we found many. One of our favorite ones was Karma and Green bowl beach. They are all located in the south of Bali, in the area called Jimbaran. You can easily drive up to Ubud and explore Monkey sanctuary, cute cafes and antique stores. We also hiked up to Mount Batur for one of the most beautiful sunrises ever. Bali is a perfect destination for first-time comers to Southeast Asia and offers many places and resorts for your dream beach holiday.

The best time to visit Bali is from March till the end fo September. The days also mostly sunny and hot without much rain.

Siargao, beautiful beaches and holidays
Siargao, Philippines

By from Bread and Curly.

Siargao is an awesome place for a beach getaway in the Philippines. This island has the perfect mix of beach, fun, and adventure. The island rates as one of the destinations for your perfect beach holiday. Lots of coconut trees, yummy food, and rum. Surfing is world-class. Don’t surf? No worries, You can watch the talented surfers at the Cloud 9 viewing station. There are some beautiful sights in the area. Sugba lagoon a great day trip. The beautiful turquoise water in the lagoon is the perfect place for a swim. Magpupungko tide pools are stunning sites. Only accessible during low tide they are a favorite for locals and tourists alike. One of my favorite things was renting a scooter and exploring the island. There are lots of hidden beaches, coves, and beautiful landscapes. A great day trip is to hire a boat and explore the beautiful islands near general luna. The trip usually includes a delicious grilled lunch right on the beach. But my all-time favorite thing to do in Siargao is to eat at the incredible fish tacos at Miguel’s Taqueria. I still dream about those tacos!

Located in North West of the Philippines it is best to visit between the months of March and October.

But for me, the most interesting place for basking in the sun in Playa del Inglés – a lively sea resort located close to the famous Dunas de Maspalomas. This sandy desert-like nature reserve is perfect for long walks. If you feel like walking even further, you can stroll on Paseo de las Meloneras. This 2-kilometer long promenade is one of the most picturesque seaside walks I have ever seen.

Kauai, hawai
Kauai, Hawaii

By Sierra Schmidt from Free To Travel Mama.

Some of the world’s best beaches are on the island of Kauai, in the state of Hawaii, USA. It is breathtaking with all the shades of green in its lush plant life and the colors of blue in its clear waters. The entire island is stunning, but the North Shore takes natural beauty to a whole new level.

As I drove along the highway to the end of the road (where the ground hits the Na’ Pali and you can only go further on foot), I passed beautiful beaches one after another. Some are easily accessible from a small parking lot and others require a short hike through the jungle to reach the sand. Poipu Beach Park on the South Shore is a good bet for sunny weather, snorkeling, and nearby restaurants. Anini Beach was our favorite for its shallow family-friendly waters, mostly empty beach, and resident turtles which we were able to respectfully admire while snorkeling. Keoki’s Paradise was a favorite of ours with its open-air restaurant for Sunday Brunch and occasional live music and hula dance.

Thrill-seekers will thoroughly enjoy a doors-off tour with Jack Harter Helicopters which offers a phenomenal view of the entire island that you would not normally be able to access. For more family-friendly fun, Smith’s Family Luau checked all the boxes with its authentic Hawaiian food, botanical garden setting, and nightly cultural entertainment.

If you are hoping to avoid most of the rain, June-October would be your best travel dates, but staying on the South Shore will bring you more sunny days year-round. The high annual rainfall is what makes this island so beautiful though, so come prepared, soak it all up, and enjoy the peace that comes with being on island time!

Barra beach, Mozambique
Barra Beach, Mozambique

By Jenny from TraveLynn Family.

Mozambique is off the radar for so many travelers as there are few direct flights, and stories of corrupt police and terrible roads also act as a deterrent. Whilst the latter may be true, we had no problems with the police whatsoever, and the beaches… oh my… they are seriously some of the best beaches we have ever seen! We spent three weeks traveling through Mozambique in 2019, which formed the first leg of our self drive Africa overland adventure. We traveled for 101 days in a hired Land Rover with roof tents and had our two boys (then aged 2 and 4) along for the ride.

Mozambique boasts miles upon miles of untouched beaches where you will find your own personal slice of paradise. However, the majority of these beaches require advanced 4WD skills to get to, and once there, there is nothing but you and the ocean. Whilst this may sound bliss, you may find you need to base yourself somewhere with a few amenities. One of our favorites was Barra Beach, which has a sandy stretch fringed with swaying palm trees and waves crashing in from the Indian Ocean. Tourism is just starting to develop in the area and the beach was very quiet at our time of visit (April). A paved road runs from the main road and there are a few local shops to buy the essentials of fruit and drinks.

December to April is the wet season, however, rain comes in short sharp showers, and it’s not a reason to avoid the region (unless you’re planning off-roading).

Gran Canaria, spain
Gran Canaria, Spain

By Joanna and Bartosz from Overhere.

There is never a bad time to visit the Canary Islands. They say there is endless spring… and they are right! The Canary Islands consist of seven islands: Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro. My favorite island is Gran Canaria – the warmest and least windy of all Canary Islands. Gran Canaria is especially famous for its beautiful beaches. The majority of them are situated in the south of the island. Sunbathing aficionados can choose from golden, white and dark sandy seashores, and also shingle beaches, some open to ocean and the others hidden in bays. The most beautiful beaches in the south of the island are: Playa Anfi Del Mar, Playa De Tauro, Playa Puerto Rico, Playa De San Agustin, Playa De Taurito, Playa De Mogan, Playa De Amadores.

Pleasant temperatures and sunny weather make Gran Canaria an all-year destination. Especially those who look for winter sun will be pleased. When it is bitterly cold and days are grey and short, Gran Canaria the sun is shining and temperature encourages to spend the whole day outdoors.

Bulgaria, europe

By Maria and Rui from Two Find A Way.

Bulgaria was not necessarily a country that we had read a lot. However, it belongs to the destinations which are perfect for a beach holiday. The reality is that we knew very little about this Balkan country, that is until we found some affordable flight tickets. We really wanted to get a bit off the beaten path, and after a bit of research, the flights were booked and we started planning our Bulgaria itinerary.

One of our priorities for our time in Bulgaria was actually to get some rest, so some time at the beautiful coast was mandatory. Many people don’t know it, but Bulgaria has some incredibly beautiful beaches. From fully developed resorts to hidden and undiscovered beaches, you can find everything you are looking for. If you want to rest, book a resort. If you’re chasing adventure, why not road trip from the North to the South of the Coast?

Our time by the Coast was perfect to relax and enjoy the Bulgarian sun, and delicious food, including surprisingly affordable seafood in beautiful terraces by the sea. One of the highlights was a visit to Nessebar. The city, known as the Pearl of the Black Sea, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with history, amazing architecture and stunning views.

Summer is the best time to visit, but Spring and beginning of Autumn can also be great if you’re okay with fewer beach days.

We hope that you find a few destinations for your next beach holiday. Let know us in the comments where you heading next.
