If you are around Fiji and heading to the Coral Coast on Viti Levu, we highly recommend Wellesley Resort as it is affordable for couples and provides a perfect hideaway.

Wellesley Resort provides very unique accommodation. Each hut is nicely decorated in Fiji style surrounded by 100 acres of lush tropical rainforest, beautiful gardens, pool and a stunning private white sand beach. We stayed in executive suite, but you can also choose from a standard vila or a pool vila with its own pool.
Except of relaxing on the beach or by the pool you can choose from many FREE activities.

FREE ACTIVITIES IN WELLESLEY RESORT
We really liked the free activities offered by the resort. You can learn a lot about Fijiian culture and the staff is incredibly friendly.
KAYAKS AND SNORKELING
We could take kayaks and snorkelling gear at any time we wanted and for as long as we liked. You can see many beautiful corals and tropical fish in the water. If you are up for diving, a dive centre is just a short foot walk away.

COCONUT AND KAVA TASTING
Every day around 10.30am and 2:30pm we could have coconut tasting or kava tasting (traditional Fiji drink) which was super delicious. Kava is not just a drink, it’s a way of life in Fiji. The staff is very keen to talk about Fijian traditions.
NATURE WALKS
We also went for a free nature walk around the resort. Sabir explained us a lot about the rainforest, exotic flowers and plants which grow here. We learned about the benefits certain plants have, which one you can eat and so on.
FISHING
If you are up for fishing, Sabir can take you. You never know, maybe you catch your own dinner. The chef Nathan will be happy to prepare it for you.
ENJOY TIME ON THE PRIVATE BEACH
The resort has its own private beach. The white sand beach is really stunning and quit unique, as most of the Coral Coast has rocky beaches. We would go as far to say that is the best beach on the Coral Coast. Natadola Beach which is supposedly the best beach on Viti Levu stands no chance.

Make sure you go for a sunset to the beach and walk to the right to see stunning sunsets.
Next to the beach there is a typical Fijian village with a tiny shop where you can get a couple of snacks and souvenirs. The locals also offer horse riding and massages.
DINE AT HUNGRY TROUT
The hotel has its own restaurant so you won’t be hungry. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, both local and international cuisine. Nathan is a great cook and you have to try the island fish (Mahi Mahi) in Coconut sauce.
All staff went out their way and made sure our stay was as perfect as possible.
The Lazy Trout Restaurant Lunch
OUR TIP: Because of the rainforest surrounding the resort, there are mosquitos around so make sure to bring mosquito repellent.
Enjoy the tranquility and relaxation guys.
